Health and safety is one of DISCO’s top priorities. For that reason, we have established Principles of Health and Safety in order to prevent accidents and disasters, and to enable employees to live healthy and safe lives. We are continuing to promote initiatives in this area.

| Safety and health principles clarify the direction of individual and corporate actions, for the purpose of preventing accidents and disasters as well as protecting our health. |

From "zero accidents" to "zero risk" |

We must, naturally, comply with all laws and regulations; but we aim to go beyond

"Zero Accident" Campaign
DISCO started its "Zero Accident" campaign in fiscal 2004, with the aim of eliminating accidents
and having health and safety take root in our corporate culture. More specifically, this focuses on reducing risks
specific to each division that lead to accidents, zero traffic accident exercises, safety training and fire-prevention
activities. |

Safety Training
In order to achieve zero accidents it is absolutely vital to raise safety awareness of each and every employee. To this end, DISCO provides safety training.
Recently, particular focus has been on safety training for service engineers when they carry out service maintenance. DISCO
provides a consistent level of safety training at all its domestic and overseas local affiliates.
DISCO is continuing initiatives to achieve zero accidents throughout the entire group. |

OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety Standard) Certification |

DISCO received OHSAS certification for the Hiroshima Works in 2004 (renewed in 2007), and at DISCO HI-TEC (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD in 2007 and DISCO HI-TEC EUROPE GmbH in 2008.
DISCO is engaged in a variety of initiatives to encourage every employee
to maintain or improve his or her health and enable them to work with cheerfulness and vigor. These include
expanding the scope of regular medical checkups domestically, and implementing medical checkups at overseas
affiliates.
Also, DISCO has set up facilities to help employees refresh their minds and bodies by, for example,
establishing a fitness gymnasium at its Head Office/R&D Center and places ping-pong equipment at each site.

Mental Health Initiatives
DISCO views not only physical health, but also mental health as important. We have an occupational counsellor on site and have also contracted a specialist psychosomatic physician to conduct counselling for employees.
The psychosomatic physician also gives seminars on the prevention of depression for regular employees and managers.
