Local Community Contribution Activities
To build positive relationships with local communities, DISCO has identified “making DISCO-like contributions to the local community” and “respecting the local culture” as material issues in “DISCO VISION 2030,” which corresponds to our medium-term management plan. At each of our sites, we plan and implement activities based on local needs, including local environmental conservation, welfare support, food waste reduction, support for people facing economic hardship, support for persons with disabilities, and disaster prevention and BCP awareness.
Examples of Activities
The following are a few examples of community contribution activities conducted by the DISCO Group in Japan and overseas.

Gohara District Firefly Project
Since 2019, the Kuwabata Plant of Hiroshima Works has participated in a firefly conservation project, together with Gohara Junior High School as well as local residents and organizations, as part of their biodiversity conservation initiatives. DISCO is responsible for caring for and raising the larvae hatched by the students and reporting on their growth during the school’s extracurricular classes.
Clean Walks
Across several DISCO sites in Japan and overseas, we regularly conduct local cleanup activities (Clean Walks) around our offices. Each site adds its own unique touch to the activity, such as competing in teams to see who can collect the most litter, so that employees can have fun while taking part. Through activities aimed at achieving “excellence in cleanliness,” DISCO strives to beautify local communities while also aiming to build positive relationships with local residents.
Providing Food and Vegetables to Children’s Cafeterias (Kodomo Shokudo)
At Nagano Works, DISCO delivers food, clothing, and other items donated by employees to children’s cafeterias (kodomo shokudo). We also provide these cafeterias with vegetables, taking advantage of the local characteristic that many of our employees are also part-time farmers.
