We offer our condolences to all those affected by the earthquake centered in Kumamoto Prefecture.
The status of DISCO Group operations is as follows.
No employees have been injured.
Although tremors were observed at Hiroshima Works (Kure-shi, Hiroshima Prefecture), as the facility adopts a seismically isolated structure, no damage has been reported and operations are continuing as usual.
No tremors were observed at the Head Office and R&D Center (Ota-ku, Tokyo) or Nagano Works (Chino-shi, Nagano Prefecture), and no impact has been confirmed.
DISCO’s Kyushu Branch Office (Mashiki-machi, Kamimashiki-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture), one of our sales offices, also adopts a seismically isolated structure, and thus no damage to the building or equipment has been confirmed, and no employee injuries have been reported.
No impact on procurement from suppliers in the Kumamoto area is currently expected.
If necessary, alternative sourcing from other regions will be used to minimize the impact on DISCO’s production.
Products such as precision processing equipment, precision processing tools, and maintenance parts are being shipped as usual.
A support system has been established for customers in the Kumamoto area led by the Kyushu Branch Office, with additional employees available to be dispatched from other domestic locations including Hiroshima. DISCO will provide our full support to help customers restore their production equipment and resume operations.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or inquiries.
