Information is currently circulating on certain social media and other platforms claiming that the Japanese government implemented new export controls on semiconductor manufacturing equipment effective August 1, 2026, and that DISCO products are subject to such controls.

In Japan, the establishment or amendment of export controls takes effect through the promulgation of the relevant cabinet and ministerial ordinances and public notice by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
No promulgation or public notice corresponding to the circulating information has been confirmed. Accordingly, we believe that the information claiming such controls have taken effect is without factual basis. As a matter of due diligence, we are currently making inquiries with METI and will provide a further announcement on this page once confirmation has been obtained.
